You Have Got to be Kidding Me!!!

Persystent gets more funds! According to Tech Journal South, Persystent got more money.

Persystent Technologies turns on $11.6M round -- June 2, 2008

Persystent Technologies, a Tampa-based company selling an automatic PC repair and high-speed imaging solution, has raised an $11.6 million round led by ABS Ventures of Boston, and Valhalla Partners of Virginia, with participation from existing investors. The company raised a $7 million B round in 2005, led by Valhalla. Other investors in the company include Inflexion Partners, Tall Oaks Capital, and Village Ventures.

This was my favorite quote:

Persystent has developed what it says is “the world's only PC automated repair (pre-boot of OS), on or off the network, and high-speed imaging solution that transforms today's computers from their current state of unpredictability and vulnerability to a new solid state of continuous computing.”

Ummm... NO! The software is based on the O/S from Rembo, which IBM owns. And according to a patent search, IBM owns much of the patents that pertain to this technology. Not to mention that Deep Freeze, Ghost, and many other programs do at least some of the tasks that iNode (the former name of the software) does.

The only thing this company is good at selling is the idea to VC firms.
